The police personnel reportedly killed the bandits on Friday and also recovered arms and ammunition from them in the course of a gun duel.
A mobile police team has neutralised two bandits in Kuriga, in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The police team was recently deployed to the area by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, according to Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in the state.

Arunwa in a security update issued on Sunday, said, “In the operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government, it was revealed that the operatives responded to distress calls of an attack on farmers by bandits on the outskirts of Kuriga village.
“On arrival, the security forces engaged the bandits in a fierce firefight, during which two of the criminals were neutralized. The forces recovered two AK47 rifles and 17 rounds of ammunition from the scene.
“Receiving the report, the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, commended the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Audu Dabigi, as well as his officers and men, for their swift response and the successful intervention which led to two bandits neutralized.”
“The Governor urged the personnel and other security forces in the general area to sustain pursuit of the criminal elements and ensure their total dislodgement,” he added.
