Kanu's special counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, who made this known to SaharaReporters said the court’s rulings will either restore Kanu's bail or transfer him to home detention.
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja will on Monday (today) rule on two applications filed before it by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu's special counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, who made this known to SaharaReporters said the court’s rulings will either restore Kanu's bail or transfer him to home detention.
Ejimakor, who said that Kanu's legal team is primed and in a battle array ahead of the court rulings, also noted that the prosecution is expected to call its first witness, if the court permits.
Ha said, “The court will deliver rulings on our two applications to either restore Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's bail or transfer him to home detention. The prosecution is expected to call its first witness, if the Court permits.”
The IPOB leader through his legal team had filed an application before the court seeking restoration of his bail granted to him by the court before the Nigerian security agents raided his home in 2017, leading to his escape.
Kanu was arrested in Kenya and renditioned to Nigeria in June 2021, and has since been detained in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
