Navy Petty Officer Dismissed For ‘Stealing Wrappers, Veils, Generator, Empty Gallons’

His dismissal was said to be in line with the provisions of the 1999 constitution as amended, and the Armed Forces Act (Rules of Procedure) 1972, and other extant laws.

M Nasiru, a Petty Officer (PO) in the Nigerian Navy has been dismissed for theft.

 

According to a military signal seen by SaharaReporters, the dismissed soldier allegedly stole from a retired Naval rating who accommodated him and his family in Lokoja, Kogi State.

 

His dismissal was said to be in line with the provisions of the 1999 constitution as amended, and the Armed Forces Act (Rules of Procedure) 1972, and other extant laws.

 

It reads, “Accused and charged for stealing 

the following: 30 pieces wrappers and 3 veils, 1 Maxi generator, 40 empty gallons of 25 liters, all items valued at 600,000.

 

“Stolen from house of one Mrs Jumai Idris who accommodated him and his family in her 3 bedroom flat in Lokoja town, for free.

 

“The woman is a retired rating presently working in Abuja at the time of her return, she discovered the missing items, she tried contacting the PO who has already packed out but to no avail hence she reported the incident to the naval authority to enable her recover her items.”

This comes a few days after a female soldier identified as Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort with service number 15NA/74/4422F was dismissed for allegedly stealing gold jewellery said to be worth N35 million from an army general’s wife.
