70-Year-Old Bandit, Three Others Arrested In Kaduna

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a 70-year-old man, Hussaini from Tudunjukun, suspected to be a bandit in Zaria, Kaduna State.

 

This was revealed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the spokesperson for the state police command, ASP Mansir Hassan.

 

According to Hassan, three other suspects were also arrested following credible intelligence information about their suspicious movements.

 

The police command added that its personnel also recovered one AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, and three cartridges.

 

The statement added, “In the same vein, following credible intelligence information about suspicious movement of an armed bandit, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tudun Wada Zaria Division led a swift action resulting in the arrest of one Hussaini, male, 70-year-old, from Tudunjukun in Zaria.

 

“The arrest took place at about 0250 hours. During the operation, an AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, and three cartridges were recovered from the suspect.

 

“The suspect is helping the police Investigations to apprehend his accomplice and will be charged in court as soon investigation is completed.”

 

The police mentioned further that suspected kidnappers ravaging communities in the North-West region of the country were also arrested.

 

According to the police spokesman, the suspects, who have been involved in multiple kidnappings and cattle rustling in the zone, were apprehended by a joint team of Saminaka division police officers and hunters in the Lere Local Government Area of the state.

 

He identified the suspects as Isah Baffa Rabo from Maibindiga village, Ja'afaru Sale from Durumi village, and Umar Musa from Durumi village, all in Lere Local Government Area.
