An unspecified number of passengers have been reportedly abducted by some gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists along the Maiduguri/Kano highway.

The attack happened between Garin Kuturu and Mannanari village near Auno, which is along Damaturu highway at about 5:50pm on Monday, sources told Daily Trust.
The source said; “There was an incident between Mannanari and Garin Kuturu where some Boko Haram fighters came out to block the upcoming vehicles and some passengers were abducted.”
“We are not sure of the number as we speak but certainly there was an abduction on Monday evening.”
Many travellers along the Damaturu-Biu highway were in February kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram terrorists near Mahdiya village in Gujba local government area of Yobe State.
It was gathered that the insurgents ambushed commercial and private vehicles playing the highway and abducted many passengers in six vehicles and killed one person.
