Nigerian Police Kill Eight Bandits, Rescue 87 Abducted Victims In Katsina

Abubakar further mentioned that 12 cases were taken to court in May, with 69 suspects arrested for various criminal activities throughout the month.

The Katsina State Police Command has announced the neutralisation of eight suspected bandits and the rescue of 87 abducted individuals in May.

 

Sadiq Abubakar, the Command’s spokesperson, revealed the information on Wednesday during a briefing in Katsina. 

 

He reported that 18 major crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, homicide, and cattle rustling, were recorded during the reviewed period.

 

Abubakar further mentioned that 12 cases were taken to court in May, with 69 suspects arrested for various criminal activities throughout the month.

 

"A total of 10 suspected armed robbers, nine murder suspects, 33 suspected rapists/sodomites, and 26 suspects involved in other offences were arrested," he stated.

 

Additionally, the Command successfully neutralised eight suspected bandits, rescued over 87 kidnapped victims, and recovered 150 stolen animals.
