Iran's mission to the United Nations issued a dire warning on Friday, threatening an "obliterating war" should Israel initiate a large-scale military operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The warning came after Israel Defence Forces launched an attack on multiple Hezbollah positions in response to the Iran-backed group's recent missile strikes on northern Israel.

The Iranian UN mission revealed on X, Friday, stating that in the event of Israel initiating a war against Hezbollah, "all options, including the complete engagement of all resistance fronts, remain on the table."
Since October 7, Iran's "Axis of Resistance," comprising Hezbollah, Hamas, Yemen's Houthis, and other groups in Syria and Iraq, had been directing attacks against Israel.
The conflict escalated when thousands of Hamas-led militants invaded southern Israel, resulting in 1200 fatalities and 251 hostages, igniting the Gaza war.
Iran launched an unprecedented missile and drone strike on Israel on April 14, following an alleged Israeli airstrike near Tehran's embassy in Damascus that resulted in the deaths of several senior officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The Iranian strike was largely repelled by Israel, the United States, and their allies, although it resulted in a serious injury to a 7-year-old girl.
Meanwhile, after the October 7 massacre by Hamas, Israel evacuated a significant portion of its northern region due to fears that Hezbollah, Iran's proxy in Lebanon, might launch a similar attack.
As a result, approximately 60,000 residents of northern Israel remain displaced while the country aims to eliminate the terrorist threat along its northern border.
Iran dismisses the Zionist regime's propaganda of planning to attack Lebanon as psychological warfare.
However, if full-scale military aggression occurs, it will trigger a devastating war, all options, including the full involvement of all Resistance Fronts, are on the table.
