SaharaReporters gathered that the actress, who has been facing intense criticism online following her support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections, had engaged in a heated exchange with @Yarlo.

The Nigerian police have arrested and detained a man and X user, identified only as Yarlo, for insulting Nigerian actress and staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu, Toyin Abraham, and wishing her son dead.

Yarlo has been arrested and detained by the Nigerian Police Force for at least five days, SaharaReporters learnt.

SaharaReporters gathered that the actress, who has been facing intense criticism online following her support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections, had engaged in a heated exchange with @Yarlo.

In the course of the heated exchange, the X user wished death on Toyin’s son. He wrote, “Your son go kpai soon.”

Toyin, in response, promised to use him as a scapegoat, to which the X user replied, “Use me as the first scapegoat.”

However, SaharaReporters observed that Nigerian netizens have begun to trend #FreeYarlo hashtag to demand for his immediate release.

Reaching out for help on behalf of the arrested X user, Reedah wrote: “Hello I’m Reedah and Yarlo is my friend. Heard from his mother that he was arrested 4 days ago. I heard that the police came from Lagos to arrest him for cyber bullying Toyin Abraham. Pls any help you can render will deeply appreciate you.”
