Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has firmly responded to recent criticisms by reasserting his dedication to serving his constituents and defending the achievements of his administration.

Addressing allegations of neglect, Fubara expressed his sincere intention to support the Rivers lawmakers loyal to Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stating, "I disregard stupidity, but those deluded, thinking we're dormant, hear this: I genuinely aimed to assist them because I know them."

The governor made this statement while receiving a solidarity visit from a delegation comprising the leadership, stakeholders, opinion leaders, women, and youths of Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas, led by Ogbakor Etche.

Highlighting his direct involvement with local communities, Governor Fubara emphasiSed, "These are people I've personally supported, including paying school fees for their children and their house rents."

“We all knew what happened when they crossed (defected), and how did they cross? Because of our God, for them to make that mistake, they crossed! They are gone, and they are gone.

“Now, let me tell you: when I wanted to help them, I accepted to help them because we are all one. We disagree to agree as it is said.”

Regarding criticism of his public service experience, he said, "I held managerial roles. I wasn't destitute; I had enough to sustain myself and important people."

When questioned about his leadership, Governor Fubara remained resolute, saying, "If you claim ignorance on my part, I was a reserved manager. I wanted them to understand the consequences when they crossed paths due to divine justice."

Looking ahead to future plans, Governor Fubara discussed his preparations for the 2025 budget, affirming, "I've already begun planning, ensuring transparency and accountability."

Fubara addressed critics directly, asserting, "They can perform in the media, but behind lies the truth. We stand firm and speak truthfully."

We are asking for only one thing from you: Support us because our interest is very clear and straight. We mean well for our people. We want everyone to be free. We want to lead with the fear of God. We want you to express yourselves without fear.

“So, I want to assure you that we are on the right track. With your support, we are going to get there. Don’t allow anybody deceive you. They can come to the media and dance; when they go behind, they cry. It is the truth. We don’t know how to dance but we say it the way it is, and stand tall anywhere we go.”
