Body Of Missing Motorbike Rider Recovered From Well In Delta Community After 11 Days, Three Suspects Arrested

The victim’s remains were reportedly found on July 10 in a well at an abandoned filling station along Agbarho-Ughelli Road with some of his body parts missing.

The corpse of a missing commercial motorcyclist, identified as Nasiru Eneojo, has been found in an well in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

SaharaReporters gathered the deceased was declared missing on June 29, 2024.

 

The victim’s remains were reportedly found on July 10 in a well at an abandoned filling station along Agbarho-Ughelli Road with some of his body parts missing.

 

A source who spoke with SaharaReporters on Tuesday alleged that local vigilantes in Agbarho murdered the victim, removed his body parts and stole his motorbike.

 

The source said a suspect was arrested after some residents, who knew with the deceased’s motorcycle, sighted it with the new rider and alerted the police immediately.

 

According to the source, after interrogation by the police, the rider disclosed that he had no link to Eneojo’s death but the motorcycle was handed over to him by a Delta Taskforce officer.

 

The source said, "This incident happened at Agbarho, a town under Ughelli North in Delta State. The local vigilantes of Agbarho murdered a bike rider from Kogi State, who was a new motorbike rider in the town.

 

“After murdering the guy, they dumped his body in a soakaway at an abandoned filling station along Agbarho-Ughelli Road with some of his body parts missing.

 

"They stole the bike but luck ran out on the guy who stole the bike. When the guy who brought the bike rider from Kogi spotted the bike at Orido junction at Agbarho, he called for help. The new rider was taken to the police station in Agbarho but the police are unwilling to arrest the other suspect whom he said was involved.”

 

"Several chiefs in the community have gone to seek bail for the suspect but a soldier from Kogi insisted for the bail should not to be granted and for the case to be transferred to Asaba. The case was transferred to Asaba yesterday (Monday)," the source added.

 

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright EdafeEdafe confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Tuesday, stating that three suspects connected with his death have been arrested.

 

"The body was recovered from a well, three suspects connected with the death have been arrested. They are in our custody, while investigation is ongoing," Edafe said.
