The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) reported on Friday that a fire outbreak at the Josien Factory Warehouse in Abule Osun, Lagos, has resulted in substantial damage.

According to LASEMA's Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the fire began around 8:28am. The agency responded quickly to a distress call received through its toll-free line, activating its Dolphin response team from the Igando base.
Upon arrival, responders found the warehouse fully engulfed in flames. The facility, which housed diapers, solar batteries, foreign charcoal, and massaging seats, was locked at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries as the building was unoccupied when the fire started. Safety protocols were in place to ensure the protection of the response teams during the operation.
LASEMA, in coordination with Lagos State Government Fire and Rescue officials, managed the response. Despite the significant damage, the team was able to salvage a considerable amount of goods from the warehouse.
Efforts were focused on containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to adjacent warehouses. The fire was eventually brought under control, and the process of cooling down the remaining hotspots has begun.
Recovery operations are underway as LASEMA evaluates the full extent of the damage. The agency praised the coordinated efforts of all involved in managing the emergency and mitigating further risks.
