The Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, said in a statement on Thursday that the suspects allegedly "vandalised, set ablaze, and looted the Tafa LGA Secretariat during the peaceful protest."
The Niger State Police Command has paraded 23 suspects including minors accused of participating in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests in the Tafa Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, said in a statement on Thursday that the suspects allegedly "vandalised, set ablaze, and looted the Tafa LGA Secretariat during the peaceful protest."
According to the police, items recovered from the suspects, including office equipment like a "wooden bench, car side mirror, and a laptop," which had been returned to the LGA Secretariat.
The protests, which began on August 1, 2024, quickly turned violent in Tafa, with miscreants from Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State and surrounding areas mobilising to storm the Secretariat.
During the attack, they "partly set ablaze" the building, burning two cars and vandalizing two others, while looting office valuables such as a "computer, refrigerator, and television set."
"Following a swift response by the police and other security agencies, 23 suspects were arrested "with different dangerous weapons," while others fled the scene.

-Justice Danjuma aged 19yrs
-Ismaila Aliyu aged 26yrs
-Aliyu Betara aged 24yrs
-Musa Sani aged 32yrs
-Yasir Ibrahim aged 13yrs
-Abdullahi Yusuf aged 26yrs
-Bakir Hussaini aged 15yrs
-Ahmad Jibrin aged 18yrs
-Abubakar Salisu aged 18yrs
-Yusufu Tijani aged 28yrs
-Lawal Abdullahi aged 35yrs
-Idris Sani aged 21yrs
-Ibrahim Haruna aged 35yrs all of Sabon-Wuse Tafa Niger State.
-Ibrahim Nuhu aged 18yrs
-Abdulrahman Abubakar aged 18yrs both of Hayin-Dikko, Gurara Niger State.
-Saifullahi Usman aged 24yrs of Kano/Komboso.
"All the suspects have been transferred to the SCID, Minna for further investigation and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the ongoing inquiry," the police said.
