Former Oyo State Governor, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja has been crowned with a beaded crown as an Oba in line for the throne.

The ceremony placed the former governor in line for the prestigious Olubadan of Ibadan throne.

Ladoja, who served as the governor of Oyo State from 2003 to 2007, is also renowned for his role as the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland. 

Ladoja was officially crowned on Monday during a brief ceremony at the new Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

This follows his public acceptance of the position in a live radio programme in Ibadan.

 

Since the announcement, Ladoja's private residence in Bodija has become a focal point for well-wishers.

 

Prominent visitors have included Governor Seyi Makinde, Asiwaju of Ibadanland Chief Bode Amao, and Chief Bayo Oyero.
