The school's deplorable condition has raised concerns among parents and education advocates, who are calling on Governor Caleb Mutfwang to intervene.
A post shared by a popular civic tech, Monitng said, “This is the devastating state of LGEA Primary School, Jivir, Central Pankshin LGA, Plateau State—home to over 300 determined pupils. The classroom nearly collapsed during a heavy downpour, barely held up by wood. These kids deserve better.”

SaharaReporters had also reported that how LEA Primary School in Shidiyel, Mangu Local Government, Plateau State was compelled to utilise a nearby church building as a makeshift classroom for its 180 pupils.
As the sole educational institution in the community, the school has been grappling with inadequate facilities, prompting this unconventional solution of repurposing a religious space for academic purposes.
As revealed by Monitng, a civic tech platform, in a post shared on X, LEA Primary School has resorted to utilising a church building as a temporary solution to address its overcrowding issue, brought on by a surge in student enrollment.
The post reads: “ATTENTION!!! Dear Gov @CalebMutfwang. This is LEA Primary School in Shidiyel, Mungu LGA, Plateau State, the ONLY primary school in the community, built by the community, in poor condition for over 20 years.
“With 180 pupils, the structure is inadequate for learning, forcing them also to use a church building as a classroom. We urgently appeal to Gov @CalebMutfwang to intervene on their behalf and provide these deserving children with a conducive learning environment.”
