Beyoncé and Solange's mother, Tina Knowles, 70, and her husband Richard Lawson, 77, have reached a divorce settlement, almost a year after she filed for divorce in July 2023.

The couple, who were married for eight years, had their divorce proceedings initiated on July 26, 2023, in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

The settlement brings an end to their divorce case, which was ongoing for nearly 13 months.

The former couple, who tied the knot on a yacht in Newport Beach, California, on April 12, 2015, have cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for their divorce, according to a settlement obtained by PEOPLE.

The document added that the "irremediable breakdown of the marriage [made] it impossible for the parties to live together as husband and wife."

As part of their divorce settlement, Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson mutually waived spousal support.

However, Knowles agreed to make a one-time payment of $300,000 to Lawson, effectively settling his share of their communal assets and absolving him of any responsibility for their joint debts, accumulated during their eight-year marriage.

According to PEOPLE, In the divorce settlement, Richard Lawson was granted a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, earnings and assets accumulated since the separation date, assets and funds from Richard Lawson Studios Inc., his SAG pension plan and royalties, creative works and projects developed during the marriage and personal belongings, including clothing and jewelry.

Tina Knowles was awarded ownership of properties in Los Angeles and Texas, all furniture, artwork, and personal effects at both properties, earnings and assets accumulated since the separation date and creative works and projects developed during the marriage.

Both parties will retain their respective earnings and creative works generated since the separation date.

Furthermore, Tina Knowles will retain a 2018 Tesla, a 2020 Bentley, the book deal with Penguin Random House for her memoir, "Matriarch" and 1% stake in Kirby Beauty Management LLC.

As part of the settlement, both Knowles and Lawson have agreed to a non-disparagement clause, committing to amicably resolve all issues related to their divorce, mutually agree on any public statements regarding their divorce, and refrain from making negative comments about each other, their children, grandchildren, and their spouses.
