The Greek police have detained an 18-year-old American woman following accusations of raping a 20-year-old drunk man.

The victim reportedly told police the woman "performed genital acts" without his consent after leading him to an abandoned house in Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece.

He claimed the woman took advantage of his inebriated state and had sexual intercourse with him, as reported by Greek media this week, Mail Online reports.

The man said he did not want the sexual encounter, but the woman persisted until they had intercourse. The suspect has not been identified by authorities. The victim reportedly told police the woman "performed genital acts" without his consent after leading him to an abandoned house in Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece.

However, Greek media reports that she has denied the accusations. An investigation is ongoing, with the suspect expected to be interrogated by prosecutors.

It comes after a UK woman was arrested on the Greek island of Rhodes after another British woman accused her of rape. The alleged attacker, 35, is said to have followed a younger woman, 20, into the toilets of a bar in the town of Lalysos at around 1:30 am on July 14, according to several local media outlets.

The 20-year-old woman, who reported the incident to local police that night, claimed that the older woman approached her, before subduing her and trying to force herself onto her.

And last year, a 21-year-old British tourist accused a Greek man more than twice her age of raping her in her hotel room.

The 21-year-old said she was attacked at around 2 am in Pefkos and made a complaint to the local police hours later, prompting a case to be opened. According to Mail Online, the young woman's lawsuit claimed the older man took her from a "health care store" in Lindos, found on the south of the island, to a hotel in Pefkos—the main city on the island that sits around 15 miles from Turkey.

There, the outlet reports, the woman claims the man forced her to have sex with him through threats of physical violence. Upon making her complaint, the police asked a medical examiner to carry out an assessment, Mail Online said.
