All-African Revolutionary Party Backs Nigerians’ Revolt Against Tinubu’s Bad Governance, Acute Hunger
September 10, 2024

The AAPRP said the protests in Nigeria are against the effects of recent neo-colonial economic reforms enacted by Tinubu’s administration.

The All-African People's Revolutionary Party (AAPRP) has extended its support to Nigerians on their nationwide protests against bad governance and acute hunger by what it described as “the puppet” government of President Bola Tinubu.

The AAPRP made its support for Nigerians known in a statement issued on Monday titled “Solidarity with the Rebellion in Nigeria”.

This is as Nigerians across the country have been protesting against acute hunger, hardship and bad governance under President Tinubu’s 15 months old administration, with nationwide protests that lasted from August 1-10 and another phase of the protests being proposed for October.

The AAPRP said the protests in Nigeria are against the effects of recent neo-colonial economic reforms enacted by Tinubu’s administration.

According to the political party, “Africans have taken to the streets in protest of the Nigerian government and its role in producing the rampant poverty, unemployment, high cost of living, the lack of essential services like education, and medical care, among many other issues.

“Nigerians who have mobilised in protest have since been met with brutal state violence.”

With several protesters arrested, detained and being prosecuted for alleged treason and terrorism, the AAPRP said “The Tinubu regime has responded to this popular rebellion with the arrest and detention of hundreds of protestors, many being injured, maimed with some being outright killed by police as they express their disapproval of the existing state of affairs.

“We stand in solidarity with the masses of Nigerians who bravely resist the repressive measures of the neo-colonial puppet government.

“We stand in solidarity with all protestors who have been taken prisoner and we condemn the baseless charges cast on them by the shameless Nigerian regime.

“We honour those Africans martyred for daring to pursue a better world.

“We deplore this senseless and inexcusable slaughter of unarmed people and we unequivocally condemn these acts of brutality.”

According to AAPRP, “The problem plaguing Nigeria extends beyond the need to #EndBadGovernance and is neither inherent nor exclusive to Nigeria alone. The problem is neo-colonialism and it spans the African continent.

“We contend that the only solution to the problem of capitalist, imperialist, neo-colonial domination is to organise the masses of struggling African people into a formidable political force committed to fighting for the justice of all Africans.

“The recent protests are great examples of mobilisations that must be leveraged to transform the people's fervor into an organisation capable of ridding Africa of neo-colonial puppets.

“It is only through a revolutionary mass organisation that the masses can join the forward march to one, unified, socialist Africa.”
