The project, comprising 68 rooms, 18 toilets and bathrooms, and three central kitchens, among other facilities, was constructed and donated by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), a private pipeline surveillance company owned by a former militant, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo.

Major General Jamal Abdussalam, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, has reaffirmed the Army's commitment to recover military equipment and arms stolen in Okuama community, in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

He made this declaration on Tuesday while serving as the Special Guest of Honour at the inauguration of the newly remodelled and reconstructed Transit Accommodation for soldiers at the 3 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.

During his address, the GOC reflected on the tragic events of March 14, 2024, in Okuama community, where Nigerian troops were brutally murdered, and reiterated the Army's determination to retrieve the stolen equipment and bring the perpetrators to justice.

In March, the Nigerian Army released the names 17 military personnel — comprising a lieutenant colonel, two majors, one captain, one staff sergeant, two corporals, five lance corporals and five privates —killed while on a “peacekeeping mission” in Okuama, Bomadi LGA of Delta.

"We will not rest. We will continue to conduct operations until our equipment and arms are recovered," he assured.

On the project itself, Gen. Abdussalam said it "would benefit the unit, Brigade and by extension the Nigerian Army.

"The transit accommodation represents a remarkable milestone as it addresses the critical needs of our troops.

"The project highlights the impactful discuss of Corporate Social Responsibilities in the spirit of jointness.

"I am aware of the enormous resources Tantita committed to the project. The project shows that our bond transcends operational synergy in the field."
