Nigerian Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Suspect For Killing Kogi University Female Student For Rituals

Samson confessed to contacting an herbalist named Arab Money via Facebook for the ritual.

Jeremiah Samson, a 20-year-old from Kaduna South, has been arrested for the kidnapping, killing, and dismembering of Damilola, a 19-year-old student from the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.

The development was confirmed by the Kogi State Police Command.

William Aya, the State Police Public Relations Officer, revealed that Samson was apprehended on Wednesday in Lokoja. 

Samson had previously kidnapped Damilola and demanded N400,000 from her parents, which he collected, PUNCH reports.

Aya noted, "Investigation revealed that after collecting the money, he went ahead to strangle the victim, dismembered the body and buried her in a shallow grave. 

“Samson confessed to contacting an herbalist named Arab Money via Facebook for the ritual.

“Samson disclosed that he decided to kill Damilola after she attempted to escape captivity at Felele. Police have exhumed her body, along with another decayed corpse, from a bush near the NNPC filling station in Felele.” 

Aya stated that Samson would face charges in court once the investigation was completed.
