SaharaReporters earlier reported that Governor Oborevwori sacked his SSA on Special Duties, Eruteyan Eradajaye, with immediate effect.

The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered the arrest of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's former Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Eruteyan Eradajaye over links to the murder of one Sam Akemu.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Governor Oborevwori sacked his SSA on Special Duties, Eruteyan Eradajaye, with immediate effect.

Eradajaye who also serves as the Chairman of Adagbrassa-Ugolo community was sacked, after he was accused of killing one Sam Ophie because of a sand matter at the community.

In a statement, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Kingsley Emu, on Thursday announced the disengagement of Eradajaye with immediate effect.

The state government urged residents not to engage in any official matter with him as an aide to the governor.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Bright Edafe, who made this known in a statement on Friday, noted that Eradajaye was at large.

"Regarding the trending case of the murder of one Sam in Adagbrasa Ugolo community in Okpe LGA by the interim chairman of that community (now at large), the CP has directed that the suspect must be arrested and brought to justice. However, here is a brief of what truly transpired. Say no to self-help, say no to fighting, Say no to jungle Justice," he said.

Edafe explained that the suspect had a confrontation with the deceased at a community sand beach, noting that the suspect demanded two trips of sand daily as the new Chairman, but Akemu, a sand dealer, offered him only one trip per day.

"Displeased with the offer, Eradajaye allegedly insisted on receiving more, citing his position as the governor’s Special Adviser.

"The disagreement escalated, and Eradajaye, along with his men, allegedly began to beat Akemu," Edafe said.

He asserted that "On the 7th, the interim chairman came to the station and reported to DPO that he had a fight with the deceased, he came with pool of blood, with severe injury at his back and head. The DPO issued him a medical report form and ask him to report at the nearest hospital for treatment.

"Later that day the brother of the deceased came to the station and reported that the chairman murdered his younger brother. The DPO quickly went to the hospital where he was susposed to have gone for treatment and the DPO was told that the Chairman took a very brief treatment and left the hospital.

"As it stands now, we are still looking for the community Interim chairman who is presently at large. The State Commissioner of police has assured the public that justice must be served.

"He mandated the DPO to go out and ensure that the fleeing suspect is arrested and the case is properly investigated, the cause of the fight unravelled and whosoever is guilty should be brought to book."
