Omoleye Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow movement, via his official X handle on Friday, disclosed that Abiodun was released after meeting stringent bail conditions.
Abayomi Abiodun, one of those arrested, detained and tried for treason over the 10-day #EndBadGovernance protests by President Bola Tinubu’s administration has been released from Kuje prison.
Abiodun is among several protesters who were detained and being tried over the August 1-10 nationwide protests and alleged terrorism.
Omoleye Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow movement, via his official X handle on Friday, disclosed that Abiodun was released after meeting stringent bail conditions.
He added that other detainees were still undergoing processing for their eventual release.
“Today, Abayomi Abiodun, an advocate against bad governance in Nigeria and a victim of the @officialABAT treason hoax, has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling stringent bail conditions.
“Others are currently undergoing processing, as we remain committed to ending bad governance in Nigeria and securing their release and ending the regime of a fascist,” he said.

The Inspector General of Police's Intelligence Response Team (IRT) on Monday, August 26 arrested Abayomi Abiodun, an employee of Mr Drew Povey who runs Iva Valley Bookshop at the Labour House in Abuja.
SaharaReporters learnt that the police team picked up Abiodun at around 6 pm on that day.
"The Intelligence Response Team picked up Adeyemi Abayomi Abiodun around 6 pm on Monday. Adeyemi Abayomi Abiodun is the employee of Mr Drew Povey at the Iva Valley Bookshop," a source privy to the incident told SaharaReporters.
"In fact, they picked him up through a third party. They had been trailing him since yesterday morning and then released the first two people they got hold of after they saw him. They went away with his laptop."
The source told SaharaReporters that the security operatives also went away with the wife's phone.
Earlier, the police had raided the home of Drew Povey, owner of Iva Valley Books, in connection with the #EndBadGovernance protests and alleged terrorism financing.
Meanwhile, SaharaReporters reported on Thursday that Nomansland Magistrate Court in Kano, the Kano State capital, had released six #EndBadGovernance protesters.
The freed protesters were among several persons detained and being tried for participating in the protests against acute hunger and hardship under President Bola Tinubu.
The court which ordered the unconditional release of the six protesters after the intervention of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Citizens’ Liberties Committee on Thursday, adjourned the trial of other detained protesters till Tuesday, September 23, 2024.
