Nigerian Immigration Service Moves To Arrest Suspected Fraudsters Advertising Fake Jobs

This was stated in a release on Wednesday signed by DCI Kenneth T. Udo, Service Public Relations Officer and sent to SaharaReporters, while disclosing that fraudsters were using unsolicited messages, social media, and unverified websites to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has raised the alarm over the rising tide of fake recruitment advertisements about the service, urging the citizens to remain vigilant.
This was stated in a release on Wednesday signed by DCI Kenneth T. Udo, Service Public Relations Officer and sent to SaharaReporters, while disclosing that fraudsters were using unsolicited messages, social media, and unverified websites to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
The statement reads: “The attention of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service KN NANDAP has been drawn to the alarming increase in fake recruitment activities being perpetrated by fraudsters.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service maintains that all recruitment exercises are conducted in a transparent, free and merit-based manner. Vacancies are advertised through the NIS website, official government channels and recognized national newspapers.
“The NIS is working closely with relevant authorities to apprehend those involved in these fraudulent activities and bring them to justice. The Service remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all its operations.
 “Consequently, the Comptroller General urges the general public to remain vigilant and refrain from using fraudulent recruitment schemes. Anyone who receives unsolicited messages or is approached by individuals claiming to represent the NIS on recruitment matters should report to the Nigeria Immigration Service through the following official channels.”
