Gunmen Attack Former House Of Reps Member’s Cattle Ranch In Ogun, Injure Farmers

It was gathered that the incident occurred in Ako village, and at least two farmers were injured. One of who is a man in his 70s, who suffered multiple machete wounds.

 

Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers reportedly attacked a cattle ranch owned by former Ogun State House of Representatives member Adesegun Adekoya, who was violently attacked on Thursday.

It was gathered that the incident occurred in Ako village, and at least two farmers were injured. One of who is a man in his 70s, who suffered multiple machete wounds.

Confirming the incident on Thursday, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said a manhunt was underway to apprehend the suspects.

According to The PUNCH, Odutola reported that the police were alerted about an attack at the victim’s cow ranch at approximately 1:35 pm on Thursday.

Suspected thieves reportedly broke in through the windows to access the premises.

She said, "Upon entry, the intruders assaulted the security guard, Friday Ogan, inflicting a serious cut on his leg. A 75-year-old man, Adamu Idi from Ako village, was also attacked with a machete, suffering a significant wound to his head.

 

"After being notified, the police quickly responded. Upon arrival, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) transported the victims to Love and Care Hospital for medical attention."

 

Odutola confirmed that no cows were stolen from the ranch and noted that efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects were ongoing.

 

“Investigations are in progress, and any further updates will be provided,” Odutola stated.
