Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, will make a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday by 7am on October 1, 2024.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga made this known in a statement, on Monday, noting that the development is part of the activities marking the 64th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.

He said; "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will make a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 7am.

"The broadcast is part of activities to commemorate the 64th Independence Anniversary of the nation.

"Television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria for the broadcast."

SaharaReporters earlier reported that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections, and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, expressed fears that Nigeria was on the brink of a one-party state dictatorship.

This is even as he called on stakeholders in the country such as politicians, statesmen, and other stakeholders to take action and reclaim Nigeria’s democracy from the looming threats of oppression.

He had stated this during his Independence Day message to Nigerians on Monday.

He had noted that Nigeria risks becoming a one-party state with dictatorship, under the current President Bola Tinubu-led government.

The former Vice President accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of manipulating internal processes to render the opposition parties ineffective.
