Top Image Africa (TIA), an MTN Nigeria partner organisation has described an allegation by the disengaged staff that the company is owing them three months salary areas as "unfounded, baseless and falsehood."

The company in a statement issued by its  Legal Officer  J.S. Kure, Esq made available to SaharaReporters on Saturday denied owing three months salary adding that their internal records showed that the affected staff were owed only one month salary.

The statement added that the affected workers were being economical with the truth and were duly informed of the workforce reduction which was necessitated by the economic realities in the country.

He said the company was doing everything possible to resolve and pay the outstanding one month salary.

The company also denied the allegation of threatening the disengaged staff just as it challenged the individual who made such accusation to provide verifiable evidence of any threats.

It noted that the "derogatory remarks"  regarding MTN, TIA, and the MoMo project are not only unfounded but also indicative of malice, adding that the entities operate with the highest standards of integrity, and any insinuation of fraudulent activity is categorically untrue.

While making clarification on Ms.Folashade Olayinka's accusation, the company said Olayinka received her salary for June 2024 but failed to report for duty throughout the month of July 2024.

Meanwhile the company also attached a proof of payment for the month of June for Olayinka contrary to her claims.

The company stated that it was fully aware that some individuals, possibly motivated by external influences had resorted to spreading falsehood with the view to tarnishing the reputation of the organisations.

The statement read “It has come to the attention of TIA that certain individuals, who were previously part of the downsizing process due to operational redundancy and prevailing economic challenges in the country, have taken to the media, making baseless claims regarding unpaid salaries and other defamatory allegations.

“To clarify, the individuals in question were part of the workforce reduction necessitated by the economic realities and were duly informed of this decision. Contrary to their claims, TIA is not in arrears for three months of salary. Our internal records clearly indicate that only one month's salary is outstanding, which TIA is actively working to resolve and disburse.

“ As a reputable and respected organization, TIA refrains from engaging in public disputes based on misinformation. The assertion that TIA has engaged in threatening behavior is entirely false. We challenge the individuals making such accusations to provide verifiable evidence of any threats. In the absence of such proof, these claims remain speculative and misleading.

“The derogatory remarks regarding MTN, TIA, and the MoMo project are not only unfounded but also indicative of malice. These entities operate with the highest standards of integrity, and any insinuation of fraudulent activity is categorically untrue. We reject, in the strongest terms, any attempt to label MTN, TIA, or the MoMo project as a "scam."

“Furthermore, with respect to the specific case of Ms. Folashade Olayinka, records indicate that she received her salary for June 2024. However, it is also on record that she failed to report for duty throughout the month of July 2024, effectively abandoning her role. Proof of payment for June has been annexed for verification.

“It is regrettable that certain individuals, possibly motivated by external influences, have resorted to spreading falsehoods and tarnishing the reputation of reputable organisations. We urge them to cease such activities immediately.

“The management of TIA is fully aware of these developments and will take all necessary legal and administrative actions to protect the integrity of the company, its partners, and its projects."
