Fire Destroys Zamfara Assembly Speaker’s Residence In Gusau

Describing the event as tragic, the House Clerk, Mahmud Aliyu, noted that although no lives were lost, the fire resulted in the destruction of properties valued at millions of Naira.

A fire outbreak has devastated the home of Bilyaminu Moriki, the Speaker of the Zamfara House of Assembly, located in Gusau. 

 

This incident was reported on Sunday by the House of Assembly's Chief Press Secretary, Bello Madaro, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

 

Describing the event as tragic, the House Clerk, Mahmud Aliyu, noted that although no lives were lost, the fire resulted in the destruction of properties valued at millions of Naira.

 

Mr. Aliyu stated, “The management of the Zamfara Assembly was shocked over the fire incident which occurred on Sunday that razed down the Speaker’s residence in Gusau.” 

 

He conveyed condolences from both lawmakers and staff members to the Speaker and his family during this difficult time.

 

In his remarks, Mr. Aliyu encouraged the Speaker and his family to view the incident as a divine act destined by God. 

 

He expressed hope that such disasters would not happen again, stating, “On behalf of the entire staff to the House, I extend sympathy over the ugly incident.”
