This development implies that the power generation of the country fell to 0.00MW.
The Eko electricity distribution company confirmed the development on the collapse of the grid again on Tuesday.
The Eko Electricity Distribution Company reported that there was a system collapse around 9:17am on Tuesday.
“Dear Valued Customer, kindly be informed that there was a system collapse at 09:17hrs, which has resulted in a loss of power supply across our network.”
“We are currently working with our partners and hope for a speedy restoration of the grid. We will keep you updated as soon as the power supply is restored,” the company stated.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC) informed its customers in the South East region of a general system collapse which it said resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across its network.
A statement on Monday evening by the EEDC Head, Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, explained that the system collapse occurred at 18:48 hours , 14th October, 2024.
"Consequently, due to this development, all our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.
"We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo," the statement noted.
Nigeria has continued to face challenges in its power sector despite numerous investments.
