Trump Ally Laura Loomer Files $150Million Defamation Lawsuit Against Comedian Bill Maher, HBO Over Allegations Of Affair With Ex-President

In the lawsuit, filed in Florida, it is alleged that Maher's comments were made with "malice" and were "false, misleading and defamatory."

Political activist and conservative commentator Laura Loomer, 31, is suing comedian Bill Maher and Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO for defamation over claims made on Maher’s show, "Real Time with Bill Maher," that she was in an "arranged relationship" with former President Donald Trump.

It was alleged that she committed adultery with Trump.

Loomer’s attorney, Larry Klayman, stated that she has been "affected, victimized, and severely damaged" by the remarks and is seeking $150 million in damages, Mail Online reports.

In the lawsuit, filed in Florida, it is alleged that Maher's comments were made with "malice" and were "false, misleading and defamatory." The complaint asserts that Loomer has faced "unjustified ridicule, embarrassment, loss of reputation, and professional opportunity," in addition to financial harm.

During the September episode, Maher commented, "I think maybe Laura Loomer’s in an arranged relationship to influence the election because she’s very close to Trump.

“She’s 31, looks like his type... Who's Trump f******? Because I said, it's not nobody... I think it might be Laura Loomer."

The suit alleges that these remarks "falsely and maliciously accused Ms. Loomer of having committed adultery with Donald Trump."

It states, "Ms. Loomer has never engaged in sexual relations with President Donald Trump. Defendant Maher had no basis in fact to make this statement."

According to the lawsuit, Maher and HBO failed to conduct proper due diligence and did not investigate the facts before broadcasting the statements.

It also claims that Maher retaliated after learning of the lawsuit by airing another segment titled "24 Things You Don’t Know About Laura Loomer," which continued to make "false, disparaging statements."

Loomer had requested a public apology and asked to appear on Maher’s show to "mitigate prior and any further damage," but the defendants allegedly refused. Her legal team also claimed that Maher and HBO’s "anti-Trump" lawyers "viciously and callously" threatened Loomer.

Her attorney, Larry Klayman, added that Loomer has been a "strong advocate for President Donald Trump" and that Maher’s comments were intended to "harm President Trump’s campaign" and "damage Ms. Loomer’s credibility."

Loomer had previously issued a statement on social media, saying, "I should sue Bill Maher for defamation. This is beyond the pale and it's a complete and blatant lie."

After Maher’s remarks, Trump himself responded on Truth Social, calling Maher a "befuddled mess, sloppy and tired," while accusing him of having "Trump derangement syndrome."
