The YRC also demanded immediate release of all the #EndBadGovernace protesters and that all the trumped up charges against them must be dropped.
The Youth Rights Campaign (YRC), has demanded the arrest and prosecution of all the Nigerian government officials who are responsible for detention of minors for 90 days and the inhumane treatment that led to their malnourishment.
The YRC also demanded immediate release of all the #EndBadGovernace protesters and that all the trumped up charges against them must be dropped.
The YRC which made the demands on Monday through their National Secretary, Francis Nwapa, while reacting to President Bola Tinubu’s order that the minors be released, said it was not surprised at the President’s order, following the pressure from the local and international community.
Nwapa said, “The order by president @officialABAT that all minors be released isn't a surprise given both local & international condemnation, which mounted pressure on his regime.
“These further affirm that Nigeria judiciary is saturated with justice that can't deliver justice, given that a Judge ordered detention of Minors, a Judge granted them bail of 10 Million even when he saw they were not just minors but malnourished and they even fainted in his court.
“The most ridiculous thing is that the President had to wear a wig to order the release of minors owing to pressure. This is evident of a captured state.
“We call for all those responsible for their arrest, detention for over 90 days and malnourishment must be brought to book and charged.
“We demand immediate release of all #EndBadGovernaceInNigeria Protesters & all trump up charges dropped Now!”

SaharaReporters earlier reported that President Tinubu ordered the release of the underage children arraigned before an Abuja Federal High Court on Friday, November 1, following national and global outrage and condemnation which came to his government.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, had announced the release to State House correspondents during an emergency briefing at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
SaharaReporters had reported that the majority of the underage children arraigned before an Abuja Federal High Court on Friday, November 1, were now ill after Nigerian Correctional Service officials rejected them at Kuje Prison.
SaharaReporters had learnt that following their rejection at Kuje Prison, the malnourished minors were detained by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in a facility meant for adults at the Intelligence Response Team unit in the Apo area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The kids who were granted bail on stringent terms by Justice Obiora Egwuatu are 24 in number but about 20 of them have been hospitalised at an undisclosed hospital, according to sources.
