This follows MC Oluomo’s election as the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) on Saturday as the sole candidate.
King West, son of President Bola Tinubu’s loyalist, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has boasted that his father now controls Lagos, as against only Lagos State.
This follows MC Oluomo’s election as the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) on Saturday as the sole candidate.
He secured unanimous votes from all of the delegates in the Union's Quadrennial Delegate Conference for Zone 2 Council of the Union, which was held in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
MC Oluomo was nominated for the national position by the Ondo State Chairman of the Union and this was seconded by the Ekiti State Chairman.
However, MC Oluomo’s son via his Instagram handle @Kiing_Westt connected his father’s victory to his loyalty to President Tinubu.
He thanked President Tinubu for expanding his father’s control beyond Lagos State.
He wrote in a post: “I am now officially the son of the president NURTW Nigeria... congratulations dad!!!!!! it's official.
“Thank you Mr President His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
“Nah the country we dey control now, no be only Lagos again. Congratulations dad.. Now MC OLUOMO of Nigeria not Lagos (King of Boys),” he added.
MC Olumo’s son posts corroborated speculations that he emerged as NURTW president through President Tinubu’s support.
In February 2022, King West threatened people for posted negative things about him.
In a post shared on his Instastories, King West, whose father was the Lagos NURTW chairman at the time, stated that such people should know they were at risk.
He first shared a video of a police officer saluting him and opening the door of his car before posting the warning.
“You post this s*** about me, I will look and smile but just know you are at risk because anywhere my people see you, you are a gunner,” he wrote.
In December 2021, King West also slammed those who called his father an “uneducated tout”.
MC Oluomo has been in the spotlight on numerous occasions over allegations of violence.
In March 2023, SaharaReporters reported how MC Oluomo issued a threat to Igbo people to stay at home - during the governorship election coming up in Lagos at the time - if they had the intention of voting those contesting against the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was seen in a viral video addressing a gathering and warning their Igbo neighbours not to bother to go to the polling units on Election Day if they intended to vote for candidates other than the ruling party's flag bearers.
Even though the Nigerian Police Force reacted by denouncing the act, the President's loyalist is yet to be punished for his conduct that threatened the unity of a multi-ethnic country like Nigeria.
Meanwhile, MC Oluomo has publicly described himself as being owned by Tinubu.
In October 2018, MC Oluomo, in an Instagram post, said Tinubu owned him and that whatever he (Tinubu) wanted was what he (MC Oluomo) would support.
He wrote on his Instagram page, “I am an Asiwaju Bola Ahmend Tinubu Jagaban loyalist, I wear the Jagaban jersey, I've been a loyalist since 1999, the first mecca i went is through his execellence in the year 2000, moreso, he as done alot for me, he made me who i am today our relationship has been was very cordial and strong in the area that I grew up in.
“So I'm one of his loyalist that have strong believe in him, he own the party and any where his interest belong I Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya Mc oloumo belong. I and my people in Oshodi formerly endorse HE Akinwunmi Ambode for 2nd term because his government is still working in the shadow of the party national leader, but now the case is vice-visa i have to follow the interest of Bola Ahmend Tinubu and the party decision.
“If Asiwaju Bola Ahmend Tinubu again says is no more Babajide Sanwoolu but someone else, so shall it be.”
