According to reports, Nnam had travelled to Anambra for a church programme when he was abducted.
A popular Christian music composer, Jude Nnam, also known as Ancestor, has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in Anambra State.
It was gathered that Nnam who serves as the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and is a member of the National Liturgical Commission of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), was kidnapped on Thursday evening around 6pm in Umunnachi in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, Nnam had travelled to Anambra for a church programme when he was abducted.
The Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Augustine Mario, who announced Nnam’s abduction on social media on Friday said, "Please kindly keep Sir Dr. Jude Nnam (Ancestor) in your prayers.
“He was allegedly kidnapped yesterday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State.
“Sir Jude Nnam is the CAN National Music Director and Member of the National Liturgical Commission, CSN, etc. May God grant him safety and quick release from his abductors. Amen."
Another Catholic priest who also expressed his shock and frustration over the incident, said, "If this is true, then it is a huge shame.
“I’m simply tired of this unfortunate space called Nigeria. Why this type of pain and frustration now? Anyway, I just hope this isn’t true. Jude Nnam Ancestor! It is well. Fada Mentor."
It was gathered that Nnam had recently celebrated his 50th birthday and had also ministered at the Unusual Praise 2024 event held at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity in Onitsha just last week.
