Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu on Sunday led a high-level delegation to meet President Mahamat Idriss Déby of Chad over security issues.
It was gathered that the delegation included Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye; Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Ali Salau, along with some other senior security officers.
A security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad area, Zagazola Makama, reports that the delegation presented a written message from President Bola Tinubu to President Déby.
According to the report, President Tinubu in the message expressed his deep condolences and solidarity with the Chadian President and the people of the country on the recent terrorist attack on Barkaram Island of the country, which reportedly resulted in the killing of several Chadian soldiers.
President Tinubu also reportedly expressed his full support for the country in fighting against terrorists.
“This meeting underscores the strong ties between Chad and Nigeria, especially in addressing regional security challenges and combating terrorism,” the report said.
