In a letter to the Managing Director Salitz International Ventures, titled: "Suspension of operations pending investigation," the government warned that it would not tolerate any form of human rights abuse in the discharge of official duties by any of its agents.

According to the suspension letter, the compelling viral reports concerning the unfortunate incident has led to the Ministry of Environment to launch a comprehensive investigation into the matter, noting that until investigation was concluded its operating license had temporarily suspended.
The letter partly read: "Consequent to these circumstances, this letter serves to:

"Require your full cooperation with the ongoing investigative proceedings.
"Inform you that the Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) has been directed to temporarily suspend your waste management operating license, pending the outcome of the investigation.
"The state government maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of human rights abuse in the discharge of official duties by any of its agents."
