A police officer has been injured after Boko Haram terrorists attacked a police station in Borno State.

The facility – Jakana Divisional Police Headquarters – was attacked by the Jihadists according to the Nigeria Police Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi.

In a statement on Sunday, he said the police operatives attached to the Borno State Command repelled the attack.

“The group of unknown armed individuals attacked the Jakana Divisional Police Headquarters, Borno State, at about 1am.

“Fortunately, the group was met with strong resistance from gallant operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who successfully repelled the attack and left many of the attackers with varying degrees of bullet wounds, while one police officer was injured and is currently responding to treatment,” he said.

Elsewhere in Sokoto, police operatives and operatives from other sister security agencies conducted raids on several black spots and bandits camps across various areas in the state on November 25.

During the process, security operatives cleared the camps and recovered some AK47 rifles and several magazines, each loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition.

In a similar manner, police operatives attached to the Delta State Command on November 28 intercepted some suspected kidnappers in a gun duel.

The Force spokesman stated that the suspects were overpowered and forced to flee into a nearby bush with sustained bullet injuries.

“A subsequent search of the suspected kidnappers’ operational vehicle led to the recovery of 3 Ak-47 rifles, 2 pump action rifles, 1 Ak-47 magazine, 8 rounds of AR Live ammunition, and 21 rounds of live cartridges.

“Occupants of the camp took to their heels upon noticing the presence of the operatives while efforts are on top gear to apprehend them all,” the statement read.
