Despite N100million Empowerment Allocation, Kebbi Government Gives Sewing, Grinding Machines To Only 60 Persons

According to Tracka, projects tracked showed that only sixty persons were empowered from the N100million allocation for the district.

A public accountability platform, Tracka, has shown that the budgetary allocation of N100million in Kebbi State was sufficient to empower only 60 persons in Kebbi South senatorial district with sewing and grinding machines. 

According to Tracka, projects tracked showed that only sixty persons were empowered from the N100million allocation for the district.

“N100m was allocated to the Youths Empowerment for Less Privileged in Kebbi South Senatorial District, Kebbi state in the 2024 FG Budget. 

“We tracked and report that sewing machines and grinding machines were given to 60 people in Kebbi South Senatorial District. 30 each from the Zuru and Yauri emirates” the post on X read. 

In a related development, the sum of N100 million was allocated for students and youth educational empowerment for Yauri and Zuru emirate in Kebbi South Senatorual district.

However, 1291 students were given grants of N35,000 each. 

This would mean that a total grant sum of N45.1million was disbursed.

“We tracked and report that a financial grant of N35,000 was awarded to each UG1 student across 7 universities in September 2024. A total of 1291 students were beneficiaries of this grant.”
