National Assembly Reschedules President Tinubu’s 2025 Budget Presentation, Gives No Reason
December 16, 2024

Akpabio announced that the budget presentation would take place at the House of Representatives Chamber.

The National Assembly has rescheduled President Bola Tinubu’s presentation of the 2025 budget estimates to a joint session of the legislature earlier scheduled for Tuesday to Wednesday.

SaharaReporters had reported that Tinubu was expected to present the N47trillion 2025 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly on Tuesday.

The development had been communicated by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Akpabio announced that the budget presentation would take place at the House of Representatives Chamber.

But a circular on Monday stated that the budget presentation would no longer take place on Tuesday as rescheduled either.

The circular was addressed to all National Assembly staff, and confirmed the postponement but did not provide a reason for the change in the date.

Signed by Dr. Umar Alkali, the Secretary of Human Resources, the circular reportedly read, "I am directed to inform you that the presentation of the 2025 Budget by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been postponed to Wednesday, December 18. Staff are to resume their normal duties tomorrow, and the controlled entry instructions previously given will be observed on Wednesday, December 18, 2024."
