Free Transportation To Ibadan; An Analogy By Adeola Soetan

December 26, 2024

This is what is before the law, the court, commonsense for those who have not sold theirs, and people of good conscience to determine.

Can the government arrest and charge with murder or manslaughter, a woman/man who announced free transportation to Ibadan by 10am, but the crowd of poor people rushed to the motor park she hired by 6-7 am and stampeded themselves to death even when the good Samaritan was still at home because the free transportation was expected to start by 10am? Noooooooo!

This is what is before the law, the court, commonsense for those who have not sold theirs, and people of good conscience to determine.

Protective custody given to the organizers of the free bus for tensions to calm down and ideas to be exchanged to prevent other occurrences and for everybody to learn lessons from the painful incident that led to human tragedy? Well, maybe, but murder or manslaughter charge is and must be out of it.

What if the free bus transportation is for spiritual reasons so that the organizers can use people for sacrifice to acquire more wealth and influence? Such idiotic thought can only come from pathetic people suffering from incurable Complicated Anal Reasoning Disease, (CARD).

CARD is very contagious, so run away from sufferers and carriers of CARD like Those Abobakus. . . I don't think  we should have time for such foolish diseased people including kurukere kurukere pastors, Imams or Babalawos with this type of stupid mindset.

The primary blame should go to the government and wicked rogue leaders in power who made life so difficult for citizens. Pray that you are not in such conditions where nothing matters to you again other than food or death. It's a dangerous mental health condition caused by mass poverty, dehuminisation and frustration. The next stage is possible suicide if nothing is urgently done to change their socio-economic situations for better, because many of them are victims of shut factories, unemployment, and collapsed small  businesses on 'gbomulelanta' credit facilities like the two Iya Ologi in my village. You have them in your neighborhood too, maybe you are too arrogant with your temporary comfort or unconcerned to notice these wretched of the earth.

Who was arrested and charged for murder when similar tragic stampede to death happened in government agencies like it happened on Customs premises in Lagos when rice or death was distributed and with Immigration services during a recruitment exercise in Abuja in the full presence of the organizers, etc? Nobody, because the government believes it has the right to be very irresponsible and heartless to punish citizens with poverty and blame them for being poor, famished with animal instinct..

When it has come to an abnormal terrible hunger situation in the country where poor parents start throwing their children over the fence at a party venue to probably secure rice and chicken, and shiknin money for them, and you don't think we are already in a war situation of mass hunger and crushing poverty, and don't blame the government and the rogue leaders who caused this, but only blame the dehumanized parents, especially mothers who naturally can die for their children, then consider yourselves heartless, immoral, and inhuman despite your kurukere kurukere religionism. Wise people treat the causes first before condemning the effects.

Free Hamzat Oriyomi, Naomi Silekunola, the school principal whose school premises was used for the sad event and other organizers NOW.

May the souls of the innocent children pushed to death, whose parents and guardians are driven by mass hunger, and made FOODLUMS by poverty unleashed by the government, rest in peace.
