BREAKING: Thugs Linked To Governor Aiyedatiwa's Loyalist, Gbenga Aluko, Attack Ondo Community To Impose Brother As Youth Leader
January 7, 2025

SaharaReporters learned that the ongoing attack launched by the thugs in Adegbola community was to impose Aluko’s brother, Goke Aluko, as the chairman of the community’s youth forum.

Armed hoodlums, reportedly led by Gbenga Aluko, a supporter of Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, are attacking the Orita Merin Ayedun Adegbola community in Akure South.

Notably, Aluko has a history with the law, having been arraigned in the Ekiti State High Court on charges of secret cult membership, unlawful firearm possession, and murder.

SaharaReporters learned that the ongoing attack launched by the thugs in Adegbola community was to impose Aluko’s brother, Goke Aluko, as the chairman of the community’s youth forum.

According to community sources, Goke chose not to leave the chairmanship position when his term expired in December 2024.

“He, therefore, decided to use his brother's influence as head of thug to aggressively abolish the town's newly formed young executive committee,” one of the sources said.

A video, obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday night, captures the moment a young man was brutally struck on the head by the attackers, resulting in a severe injury that left his white shirt stained with blood.

Another community source said: “The attack is being led by Gbenga Aluko, a political thug and strong loyalist of Governor Aiyedatiwa. He was trying to impose his brother, Goke Aluko as the chairman of the Youth Forum in the community.

“The issue is that Gbenga’s brother, Goke Aluko was chosen as the chairman of the forum in 2022 and expected to run only for two years. His administration automatically elapsed in December after he did carnival.

“The youths did not want him to continue because of lack of accountability. He failed to account for the union’s money for the two years he served and there are no records of spending.

“This was why he called his brother to mobilise thugs and attack the community. He is doing this to impose Goke on everyone to allow him continue to lead the youth movement without any accountability.”

Gbenga Aluko was unreachable for comment, as he didn't respond to multiple calls from SaharaReporters on Tuesday night.
