Two Nigerian Men Arrested For Allegedly Sodomising Minors In Bauchi

The complainant alleged that Musa lured an 11-year-old boy, identified as Hassan (not his real name), into his room situated next to his shop.

The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended two suspects identified as Aminu Musa and Adamu Abdullahi in connection with the alleged sodomisation of minors in separate incidents across the state.

In a statement on Tuesday, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, spokesperson for the command, confirmed the arrests, stating the case of one of the suspects, a 41-year-old shopkeeper from Sabon Garin Narabi.

According to the statement, a complaint was filed on December 30, 2024, at the Tilden Fulani Divisional Police Headquarters.

The complainant alleged that Musa lured an 11-year-old boy, identified as Hassan (not his real name), into his room situated next to his shop.

Musa reportedly engaged in unlawful sexual activities with the minor on multiple occasions.

The statement read, "Upon receiving the report, police officers from Tilden Fulani Divisional Police Headquarters were dispatched to the scene and arrested the suspect.”

Wakil noted that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and revealed how he manipulated the victim.

“He (the suspect) frequently brought food to the boy and, on several occasions, gave him money in amounts of N300, N200, and N100, respectively,” the statement said.

He added that he used these opportunities to exploit him, believing he was “reaping the benefits” of his actions.

"Similarly, in a related case, on December 31, 2024, a complaint was lodged at 'B’ Divisional Police Headquarters, GRA Bauchi, that on December 28, 2024, at around 10:00 hours, one Adamu Abdullahi 'm', aged 38, a businessman dealing in metal scrap, also known as “Baban Bola,” encountered his 10-year-old child, one Garba (name withheld for privacy), while he was hawking,” Wakil said.

Wakil explained that the suspect intimidated the victim, directed him to enter an uncompleted building, and forcefully had canal knowledge of him.

"Upon receiving the report, detectives from the Division were dispatched to the scene and immediately arrested the suspect, who confessed to the crime freely during interrogation,” he said.

He added that the Command under the leadership of CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, urged the good people of Bauchi to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
