In the video obtained by SaharaReporters on Saturday, Wasiu boasted during the phone call with Tinubu, who had called to commiserate with him over the death of his mother.
Nigerian "Fuji" musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam1 De, has bragged in a leaked video where he had a phone call with President Bola Tinubu, saying he cannot "suffer" in Nigeria as long as Tinubu is president and he (Ayinde) remains "omo Asiwaju."
In the video obtained by SaharaReporters on Saturday, Wasiu boasted during the phone call with Tinubu, who had called to commiserate with him over the death of his mother.
Alhaja Halima Anifowoshe, the mother of Ayinde, was earlier reported to have passed away.
The announcement of her passing had been communicated to the public via K1’s official media platform on Saturday morning.
The announcement was accompanied by a heartfelt photograph depicting K1 in a tender moment with his late mother.
Meanwhile, the death of his mother is coming few days after the Fuji musician also lost one of his wives, Alhaja Hafsat Anifowoshe.
In the phone call, Ayinde said, “She went to meet her sister in heaven; they will meet themselves there and be holding meetings."
President Tinubu, offering words of comfort, in Yoruba said: “You will live long; God will not let you suffer.”
Responding, Wasiu said, “Since you are there, how can I suffer? You are my father, the president of a country. I cannot suffer — not in this Nigeria that you control.”
President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, continues to face scrutiny over the economic challenges affecting millions of Nigerians, including inflation and subsidy removal, which have strained household incomes.
