Simon Ekpa, who claims to be fighting for the actualisation of Biafra Nation under what he called Biafra Republic Government In Exile (BGIE), is currently in detention in Finland for terrorism charges.
Gentle, the Commander of the Biafran Liberation Army, a group of gunmen terrorising South-East Nigeria under the control of Finland-based Biafran Nation agitator, Simon Ekpa, has vowed to continue unleashing terror in the region until he brings Nigeria down.
Simon Ekpa, who claims to be fighting for the actualisation of Biafra Nation under what he called Biafra Republic Government In Exile (BGIE), is currently in detention in Finland for terrorism charges.
While Ekpa has claimed that he is fighting the same course with the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Kanu and IPOB have dissociated themselves from him and his group.
In two brief videos shared on X by @KizyUzoma, a man identifying himself as Gentle, who has been on the Nigerian security agencies' wanted list, stated that he does not operate from any camp. He vowed to continue fighting until he brings Nigeria down.
He questioned why Nigerian security forces are searching for him, claiming that he is not a Nigerian and can never be killed.
He said, “For their information, I, Gentle, I’m everywhere. I don’t have a camp. I don’t have any camp, and I must make sure that I bring Nigeria down and Nigeria is failing already. Nigeria has fallen already.
“Let the world know that all this propaganda of Nigerian terrorists, we are tired of it. We are only saying that we don’t want to be among Nigeria. We don’t want to belong to Nigeria anymore.
“We are not Nigerians and we can never be Nigerians. I have never been to the North before ever since I was born. I have been to Lagos before.”
He said security agencies have been looking for him so that they can eliminate him.
“Why are they worried like this? Why are they looking for me like this? Why are they searching for me to kill?” he asked.
“I’m a Biafran. They have to stop looking around, searching for me to kill. They cannot kill me. My life is not in their hands,” he added.
