Yoruba Leaders Coalition Confirms Release Of Ojajuni, Says Afenifere Youth President Currently Undergoing Treatment

The Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders confirmed his release in a statement, expressing gratitude to all those who played a role in securing his freedom. 

 

The Coalition of Yoruba Youth leaders has confirmed the release of the Afenifere Youth Council President, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, noting that it has brought immense relief to his supporters and the broader Yoruba community.   

 

The Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders confirmed his release in a statement, expressing gratitude to all those who played a role in securing his freedom. 

 

“Ojajuni is currently receiving medical attention, with his full recovery being the top priority," the council said. 

 

Among those recognised for their support are former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, activist Aisha Yesufu, political analyst Adeyanju Deji, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum President Alhaji Yerima Shettima, and several media organisations, including Sahara Reporters, Arise News, and AIT. 

 

The coalition also extended appreciation to Nigerians at home and abroad, as well as bloggers, activists, and others who contributed in various ways. 

“This incident highlights the urgent need for authorities to take stronger action against kidnapping and insecurity," the statement emphasised, calling for a renewed commitment to protecting all Nigerians. 

 

The Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders reaffirmed its dedication to promoting security, unity, and justice in the country.

Earlier also, the Afenifere group had called for the immediate release of its Youth Council President, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, who was recently abducted. 

 

In a communiqué signed by its Secretary General, Chief Sola Ebiseni, and National Publicity Secretary, Justice Faloye, Afenifere condemned the worsening security situation in the country. 

 

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni was kidnapped on Monday, February 17, 2025. According to the National Secretary of the Afenifere Youth Council, Abiodun Aderonhunmu, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N100 million.
