The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel, following a violent altercation on Victoria Island.

Emmanuel allegedly engaged in a confrontation with two men, identified as Paul Digha (33) and Sunday Olukoya, over an undisclosed issue. During the altercation, Emmanuel sustained severe injuries.
Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin in a statement on Sunday, noted that eyewitnesses rushed Emmanuel to Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, for treatment, but he was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.
According to the statement, following the report, detectives from the Victoria Island Police Division visited the scene and the hospital, where they inspected and photographed the deceased’s body. His remains have been deposited at the hospital's morgue for an autopsy.
The statement read in part, "On 08/03/25 at about 15:33 hours, one 'm' of Satellite Town reported at Victoria Island Division that one Emmanuel 'm', aged 25 years, allegedly engaged one Paul Digha 'm', age 33 years, and Sunday Olukoya 'm' at NPA Road, Victoria Island, at Harbour Point off Wilmer Road, V/Island, over a yet-to-be-determined issue.
"In the process, the said Emmanuel 'm' sustained severe injury. He was rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, for treatment, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
"Based on the report, a team of detectives visited the scene. The hospital was also visited, where the corpse was inspected and photographed. The corpse was deposited at the hospital's morgue for autopsy.”
"Meanwhile, the two (2) suspects who engaged the deceased in the fight that led to his death have been arrested and are in police custody. Investigation is in progress," the statement added.
