High Chief Odedeogboro Balogun of Epe Kingdom, Musiliu Adeniyi, confirmed the news, stating, "The news is true. It was this morning. He will be buried 4 O'clock today".
Before ascending to the throne, Oba Adewale served as Otun-Balogun, the third-highest chieftaincy title in the land.
He was later promoted to Balogun before being crowned king.
The monarch also had a distinguished career in public service, retiring as Director of Administration in the Ministry of Education.
Additionally, he served as Executive Secretary at the Ministry of Lands. His wealth of experience and knowledge undoubtedly prepared him for his role as a traditional ruler.
As the 19th ruler of Epe, Oba Adewale's demise has sent shockwaves throughout the kingdom.
His burial will take place today, May 31, 2025, in accordance with Islamic rites.
