In the notice titled “Network Outage Alert!”, MTN said it was “experiencing network challenges in some parts of Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi States,” adding that “our services may be temporarily unavailable as a result.”
The company said efforts were already underway to resolve the disruption, stating that “our engineers are working to restore services as soon as possible.”
MTN also appealed to affected subscribers for calm, thanking them for “your patience and understanding.”
In a similar report in October, the telecommunication giant MTN Nigeria also confirmed that a network outage affected several parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) which left many subscribers unable to make calls, send messages, or access internet services.
In a public notice titled “Network Outage Alert!” issued on Friday, the company acknowledged that it was experiencing “network challenges in some parts of FCT” and that services “may be temporarily unavailable as a result.”
MTN assured customers that its engineers were working to restore normal service “as soon as possible,” while appealing for patience and understanding from affected users.
MTN, which remains Nigeria’s largest mobile network operator with over 80 million subscribers, did not provide a timeline for full restoration at the time of filing this report.
MTN Nigeria also announced the restoration of network services across Kaduna, Taraba, and Plateau states after hours of disruption that left subscribers stranded on Friday.
