Abuja Residents Plunged Into Darkness As AEDC Blames Technical Fault

In a public notice dated December 22, 2025, AEDC informed customers that the power outage was caused by a fault affecting the feeder responsible for electricity distribution to Utako and parts of Wuye.

Residents of Utako and parts of Wuye in Abuja have been left without electricity following what the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) described as a technical fault on a feeder supplying the areas.

In a public notice dated December 22, 2025, AEDC informed customers that the power outage was caused by a fault affecting the feeder responsible for electricity distribution to Utako and parts of Wuye.

The electricity distribution company said its technical team had been deployed and was working tirelessly to restore power supply as quickly as possible, without giving a definite timeline for restoration.

“We regret to inform you that the current power outage is due to a technical fault affecting the feeder serving your area,” AEDC said in the notice.

The company apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience caused and appealed for patience and understanding while repair works continue.
