At this critical moment in our history, we don’t need a leader who hide in safe harbors. Great leaders don’t find safety by sticking their heads in the sand. Leaders are not spectators but doers. They are not elected to make safe decision. They are elected to make right and bold decisions.
One can spot a weak leader three miles away by simply looking at the types of decision they make. Weak leadership isn’t just weak, it’s dangerous. Great leaders possess the courage to take the right decision.

The terrorists for long had enjoyed free rein in Nigeria undisturbed and uninterrupted until the coming of US President Donald Trump. Months ago, President Trump signaled his intention to attack the terrorists if President Bola Tinubu remained immobilized to take the necessary action that would guarantee the safety and security of Nigerian Christians. President Tinubu didn’t take President Trump’s threat seriously. He did nothing that would send a strong message to the terrorists that it wouldn’t be business as usual. Rather, the terrorists renewed their offensive with relentless slaughtering of Christians.
But in a surprise move yesterday night, Trump fulfilled his promise by taking a bold, decisive action against the ISIS, Nigeria’s dangerous terrorists. “Tonight, at my direction as Commander-in-Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even centuries! …,” says Trump.
President Trump made the right call, and did what he needed to do in the light of President Tinubu’s spectator attitude. Contrary to lies and propaganda by interpreters of maladies President Trump is not after any Nigerian resources. President Trump will not put American boots on the ground in Nigeria. The strike by the US was a clinical surgical operation. That’s how the campaign will be done until the last terrorist is booted out of our country.
The intervention of President Trump would have been prevented but for the weak leadership of President Tinubu who sacrificed the lives of his Christian citizens for his re-election ambition for second term in 2027. President Tinubu in the face of mass killings by the terrorists, exhibits the key characteristics of weak leaders. He avoids courageous choices, pandering to opinion, fear change. He blames his opponents. He persecutes and prosecutes human rights activists instead of the terrorists. Without wasting time, he carried out a rescue mission to save Democracy in the Republic of Benin while Nigerians are being killed by terrorists steadily on daily basis.
As a weak leader, President Tinubu operates from fear, focus on self-preservation for 2027, seeks personal security over Nigerians security. He lacks skills or will for effective action, create “leadership whiplash.” President Tinubu thinks avoiding a decision means he’ll avoid the issue. But sadly, he has escalated it.
It is an historical irony that it takes a white man from a white country to rescue Christians in Nigeria from genocide while its president and the National Assembly continue to deny the truth in spite of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Yesterday’s strike by the US is a warning shot to the “terrorist scum” that President Trump is not playing and more attacks are on the way if the terrorists refused to stop the killings.
President Trump, bravo for promise made and promise kept. This is the beginning of the end of the monsters. Nigeria shall be free - at last!
