Traders at the popular Army Arena Market in Oshodi, Lagos, were thrown into panic on Tuesday evening after sections of the market were engulfed by fire.

"There’s a fire outbreak inside Arena Shopping mall along Agege Motor road, Oshodi. Men of @LagosRescue are on ground to extinguish the inferno,” LASTMA stated.
Meanwhile, last Thursday, SaharaReporters reported that commercial activities around Martins Street on Lagos Island were disrupted as emergency responders battled a major fire at the Great Nigeria Insurance House, a high-rise building widely used for storing clothing materials.
The fire, which reportedly broke out at about 5 p.m. last Wednesday, engulfed parts of the multi-storey plaza, raising concerns over the safety of goods stored in the building and the fate of occupants as rescue operations continued late into the evening.
