According to a cousin of the deceased, Abdulrazak Abdulrazeez, the incident occurred after Odoba invited Nagazi to spend the night with her last Saturday.
A man identified as Abdul Kadir Nagazi has reportedly died after being allegedly poisoned in Okene, Kogi State, prompting a police investigation and renewed calls for justice from his family.
Nagazi was said to have taken ill after eating a meal and was rushed to a hospital, where he later died. Family members claim doctors informed them that he had been poisoned, though authorities have yet to officially confirm the cause of death.
His wife, Favour Odoba, has been identified as the prime suspect and is currently on the run.

“After he ate the food, he suddenly became very sick. We rushed him to the hospital, but he did not survive,” Abdulrazeez said.
Family sources said the couple had been married for nine years without children before Nagazi married a second wife, who reportedly gave birth to a baby boy last month. Relatives believe the development triggered serious marital tensions.
Speaking during the funeral held on Monday, Abdulrazeez accused Odoba of being responsible for his cousin’s death and warned that she would eventually be brought to justice.
“You can run, but you cannot hide. Justice will catch up with you for what you have done,” he said in an emotional address captured in a video shared online.
He also alleged that Nagazi had invested heavily in his wife’s welfare before his death.
“My cousin spent over ₦2 million to set up a big shop for her. This is how she paid him back,” Abdulrazeez alleged.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kogi State Police Command has not issued an official statement confirming the cause of death or the status of the investigation. The suspect remains at large.
The family has appealed to law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts to locate Odoba and ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Abdul Kadir Nagazi’s death.
