A newly married man from Kogi State has been abducted by terrorists barely days after his wedding.
SaharaReporters gathered that the victim was traveling from Inye, in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State, to Abuja with his wife and a friend when the incident occurred.
According to information obtained by SaharaReporters, the abduction happened on January 1, 2026, around Kotokerefe, a community along the Abuja–Lokoja highway that has become notorious for violent attacks and kidnappings.

In the process, the man was seized and taken away by the attackers, while his wife and friend managed to escape and later raised the alarm.
The victim reportedly married on December 29, 2025, and was heading to Abuja with his wife shortly after the wedding when the attack occurred.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the police or other security agencies regarding the abduction, and it remains unclear whether the kidnappers have contacted the victim’s family to demand a ransom.
Earlier, SaharaReporters reported that terrorists had attacked Idofin community in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, killing one person and leaving another injured.

Meanwhile, the deceased was identified as a Tiv man, while another indigene of the community sustained serious injuries during the assault.
